Deze Costières de Nîmes Les Grès heeft een robijnrode kleur en tonen van verse kersen, frambozen, bramen, jam en olijven. Daarnaast komen de Mediterrane kruiden die in wijngaarden groeien, zoals lavendel en tijm, subtiel terug in de aroma’s van de wijn. Heerlijk bij gevogelte, rood vlees en licht gerijpte kazen.
In 2004 besloten Elisabeth en Pascal Glas om hun eigen wijnbedrijf te starten. Domaine de Poulvarel bevind zich in Sernhac, een eeuwenoud dorp in het noorden van de Costières de Nîmes. Les Grès van Domaine de Poulvarel wordt gemaakt van Syrah en Grenache afkomstig van 20-jaar oude druivenstokken. Na de oogst worden de druiven gekneusd en vindt de alcoholische fermentatie plaats in grote eikenhouten vaten. Tijdens dit proces worden kleur- en smaakstoffen langzaam onttrokken.
Decanter juni 2018 over de Les Gres (90 punten): ''This is THE BEST version of this wine we have tasted yet....what a jaw-droppingly killer mouthful of gorgeous red wine. This bottling is a sort of beefed up Chateauneuf-du-Pape in style, with a wildly diverse basket of Mediterranean flavors....strawberry, tapenade, fennel, sweet spices and a big round, wild texture, with great freshness, verve and length. These are wines that just scream the taste of the land, the wind, and the people. Fantastic. Will hold a few years, too, if you’re not in a hurry. Trust your hyper-quality-focused wine merchant!!''
