Deze Dolcetto d'Alba heeft een opvallende rode kleur met een paarse gloed. In de smaak veel zacht rood fruit en frisheid. Zeker in het voorjaar en in de zomer is deze wijn licht gekoeld erg lekker. Goed geschikt bij pasta, kip en vlees gerechten.
Gianfranco kocht na de dood van zijn vader in 1986 4 hectare wijngaard. Het wijnhuis is gevestigd in Monforte d’Alba, een klein dorpje in de Barolo streek. De wijngaarden liggen in San Giovanni, het gebied in Monforte met de bekendste cru’s uit de streek. De Dolcetto d'Alba van Gianfranco Alessandria wordt gemaakt van 1,4 hectare wijngaarden met een oostelijke (koeler) oriëntatie in Monforte d'Alba. De druivenstokken zijn aangeplant tussen 1970 en 2001. De druiven ondergaan een lichte schilweking en vervolgens een temperatuur gecontroleerde gisting in tanks. Daarna rijpt de wijn 8 tot 9 maanden gedeeltijk in kleine Franse eikenhouten vaten (55%) en gedeeltelijk in roestvrijstalen tanks (45%).
