Houd je van zeegroente? Wij ook! Bijvoorbeeld van deze hiziki; dit is een zeegras dat op rotsige landtongen en uitlopers van de kust van de Stille Zuidzee groeit. In het voorjaar wordt de hiziki met de hand geoogst, uitgezocht, in de zon gedroogd, meerdere uren gestoomd en wederom in de zon gedroogd. Je kunt de hiziki gebruiken als bijgerecht; breng het op smaak met shoyu sojasaus en eventueel rijstwijn.
