Gelegen aan de voet van de Cevennes is de grondsoort kiezelachtig. De druiven die gebruikt worden voor deze wijn zijn carignan, grenache en syrah. Alcoholische fermentatie vindt plaats in gebruikte eikenhouten vaten. De wijn wordt na afloop niet gefilterd en behoudt zo zijn geconcentreerde smaken.
