Description
De naam Liguritio is afgeleid van de streek Ligurië, ook wel de 'italiaanse rivièra' of 'bloemen-rivièra' genoemd. Dit is de smalste regio van Italië (ca. 7 km breed en 100 km lang), en grenst aan Frankrijk. De Costa Azzura, is gelegen in de bocht van Genua aan de Tyrrheense Zee. De streek bestaat uit de bergen Alpen en de Appeninen. Slechts 10% van het landschap is vlak. Ongeveer de helft van deze streek is bedekt met bossen.
Liguritio is een extra vierge olijfolie, in een met goudfolie omwikkelde fles. Deze goede kwaliteit olijfolie is afkomstig van de volgende olijven:
Frantoio (uit Abruzzo en North Puglia)
Leccino (uit Abruzzo en North Puglia)
Moraiolo (uit Abruzzo en North Puglia)
Taggiasca (uit Liguria)
De olijfolie is verkregen uit de eerste persing. Het persen gebeurt mechanisch en door middel van koude persing.
