Rop van Mierlo, een illustrator die woont en werkt in Amsterdam, is vooral bekend om zijn prentenboek Wild Animals - nu een klassieker die in 2011 een Dutch Design Award won en nu te vinden is in de collectie van MoMA New York en het Design Museum Londen. Zijn kenmerkende ‘nat-in-nat’ stijl heeft geleid tot interessante samenwerkingen met partners als Hermès, Marni, en het Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam. In 2020 ontving van Mierlo de Vimeo Best of the Year Award in New York voor zijn werk Trippy Isolator / Dances with Wolves, een videoclip voor DJ en producer Young Marco.
Als kunstenaar is Van Mierlo geïntrigeerd door de menselijke behoefte om de natuur te beheersen - daarom schildert hij dieren (op een manier) die hij niet kan beheersen. Wij verkopen zeven van deze intrigerende, semi-abstracte en vorm veranderende wezens toe aan onze postercollectie en laten ze vrij rondlopen op papier en in je verbeelding. We denken dat ze favoriet zullen zijn bij zowel volwassenen als kinderen.
