Paolo Vodopivec, one of the heroes of the amber wine revolution.
Not looking for exposure and spot lights he is a winemaker producing unbelievable white wines macerated on the skins, some of the best money can buy.
Paolo lives and works on the Italian side of the Karts Plateau, a region extending across the border of southwestern Slovenia and northeastern Italy.
Halfway between Monfalcone and Trieste.
The area is famous for its Terra Rossa soil, a rocky limestone land rich in marine sediments.
Harsh, difficult, land of stone and wind asking the maximum of the vines but giving some of the best wine grapes of northern Italy.
Paolo’s Vitovska wines are the purest expression of Carso terroir.
No dresses. No makeup.
Solo MM16 is macerated for 12 months in amphora and aged for 18 months in Slavonian oak barrel.
Pale, golden yellow color.
Aromas of apricot, pear and orange peel.
Fine mineral, earthy notes, in the finish almond and toasted nuts.
