*Furniture and Self-Assembly Orders
All of our furniture, including garden structures, come flat packed unless stated otherwise. We take every effort to ensure the furniture arrives safely, though as there are wooden components parts can occasionally be damaged in transit. Therefore, please ensure that all furniture items are checked upon receipt, and any defects notified to us within 48 hours of receipt. Unfortunately, we are unable to accept any courier damage claims that have not been notified to us within 48 hours of receipt. We would also ask that all panels are inspected prior to assembly as we cannot be held responsible for the cost, time or effort associated with dismantling items should a defect be identified after assembly. Should you employ a third party to assemble any item, we cannot be held responsible for the cost, time or effort associated. Any parts identified as being damaged upon receipt will be replaced free of charge; please note that only the part(s) will be replaced, not the complete item.
Please note that we cannot be held not responsible for the disposal of packaging. If replacement parts are required, we cannot be held responsible for the disposal of damaged parts nor any extra packaging.
Your statutory rights are not affected.
If you take advantage of one of our money off your next order offers, there is no minimum spend in relation. However, if you use the discount code on your next order and then cancel your original qualifying purchase we will refund your money for your original purchase minus the offer amount you received in your subsequent order.
If you take advantage of a money off discount code, this is only applicable at time of purchase and only one discount code can be used for each purchase. In addition, any special promotional offers made available on this website cannot be used in conjunction with any other promotional or voucher-based discounts.
If you wish to use an offer provided as part of a Product Enquiry only one of the offers sent can be claimed per order.
Descriptions and Prices of Products
We have taken every care to describe and show products as accurately as possible. Despite this, products may vary from their descriptions. If there is anything that you do not understand, or if you wish to obtain further information, please contact [email protected] Images and colours can vary from time to time and we try and ensure that the correct images are always shown, however if the manufacturer makes slight changes from time to time and the product is slightly different from that shown we cannot be held responsible.
Manufacturers do from time to time update/upgrade items and their appearance can change slightly. Unless the item is materially different from that pictured or described we are not able to compensate for any changes.
If, by mistake, we have under-priced a product, we will not be liable to supply that product to you at the stated price, provided that we notify you before we despatch the product to you. In those circumstances, we reserve the right to cancel your order. In the event we cancel your order, we will give you a full refund on any amount already paid for that product in accordance with our return and refund policy.
All prices are expressed inclusive of any VAT payable unless otherwise stated.
Specifications, Colours, Weights and Sizes
We reserve the right to alter specifications without prior notice. All sizes and weights are given as a guide only and are approximate. Representations of colour are approximate due to the limitations of photographic and calibrations of different output devices.
A name given to a product is not necessarily representative of the colour. If you have a specific requirement or are unsure as to the exact colour, please e-mail us for assistance before purchasing.
Wood is a natural product and therefore will carry minor imperfections and characteristics including grain, colour variation and knots. These characteristics are not classed as manufacturing defects. Manufacturers normally use different grades of wood for items such as cots or cot beds and therefore the finish can appear differently.
Accessories supplied to co-ordinate with the main product may differ in shade; this is normally caused by the manufacturing process and is not a fault.
Most car seats fit most cars however some manufacturers also provide suitability checks on their own websites. Where possible, please use the appropriate website to check car seat compatibility with your car as we are unable to guarantee the compatibility of any car seat in any vehicle.
Product guarantees are free of charge and are provided in addition to and having no affect on your statutory rights. Product guarantees vary from product to product and are defined by the manufacturer. In relation to product guarantees, please note the following terms and conditions:
- The guarantee is available for all products purchased from com
- The guarantee is available to the original purchaser only when accompanied with the original receipt
- This guarantee is non-transferable
- The guarantee applies to the product only and does not cover any consequential losses i.e. time or other products
- The guarantee applies to material and manufacturing defects only under normal domestic use in the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland.
- The guarantee does not cover faults caused by factors outside the manufacturers control, including failure to follow the user guide and maintenance instructions, normal wear and tear, inappropriate use such as a single buggy being used for two children or the use of any make of toddler board, accidental wilful and or misuse of the product, inappropriate storage methods and or inappropriate cleaning, modification, alteration, transformation of the product.
- The guarantee does not cover parts subject to normal wear and tear, foam handles, rubber elements of wheels, pneumatic tyres, signs of fabric wear.
- The guarantee does not cover pushchair accessories including bottle bags, cosy toes, foot muffs, pushchair liners, changing bags, rain covers, canopies, mosquito nets, parasols, head huggers, and neck supports.
Moving parts should be cleaned and maintained regularly. Fabric accessories may fade at different rates especially when not being used together
If a product is found to be defective within the definition detailed above, Smart Kid Store shall, at its sole discretion, repair the product OR provide new goods to repair the fault OR replace the product with a like-for-like product. This shall be the sole obligation of Smart Kid Store. Any repair work undertaken will be approved by Smart Kid Store.
If a claim is made under this guarantee and the defect is not due to faulty materials or a manufacturing defect, Smart Kid Store reserves the right to charge the customer a £29.25 fee to cover the engineers time/shipping costs/replacement parts.
For items sent to non-UK mainland addresses, if there is a requirement to return items for repair or send out replacement parts under the manufacturer’s warranty, any shipping costs for sending items, collection and return of the product will be the responsibility of the customer.
Acceptance of order by Smart Kid Store
The contract in respect of the products supplied by us to you comes into existence when your order has been dispatched and is confirmed to be in the possession of the chosen courier. For the avoidance of doubt, receipt of an order via www.smartkidstore.com does not constitute acceptance of an order.
Acceptance of order by the Customer
Once you take delivery of your order you have 30 days to let us know whether the item is as it should be, and everything is present. After this time, it will be accepted that you agree that all the items/parts of the order are present. In the case of courier damage, we would ask you to contact us within 7 days of receipt of the item.
Your right To Cancel
Orders placed on www.smartkidstore.com can be cancelled or amended within 30 minutes of the order being placed. After such time orders may incur a return charge as the item may have been shipped and will have to be recalled back to our warehouse. This would then constitute a change of mind return.
You have the right to cancel your order with us at any time before the expiry of 14 days from the day after the date of delivery. If your order has been dispatched from our warehouse or directly from the manufacturer, we are unable to cancel it. In such a case, you may still return the order however the cost of doing so is at your own expense. If you receive a FREE gift with your order, this must also be returned, unused in its original condition. The cost of returning the FREE gift would be at your expense. We recommend that customers check items on arrival as even if unopened we cannot refund unwanted items after the 14 from receipt or 30 days if damaged. Certain items especially those that are heavy may have a re-stocking fee applied – please contact us for further details.

When an order is dispatched to an overseas address, the customer is liable for any local customs duties or charges that may be applicable to the order. Any returns, regardless of the reason for return, are at the expense of the customer.
All our products conform to the relevant safety standards as required by the UK and European Safety regulators. Where required, products will be marked with the relevant safety standard. Although the UK and European safety standards are considered to be among the highest in the world there may be variations depending on the country in which you reside. If you do not live within the European Union, please ensure that you check your own country’s legal safety requirements before purchasing items from Smart Kid Store. We cannot be held liable for products that do not comply with local safety standards outside of the UK. If we are aware of countries that do not accept the European standards we will advise customers prior to dispatch.
We are aware that Australian regulation dictates that child car seats must be certified by Australian authorities. Due to this we are unable to ship car seats to Australia.

*Please note that Next Day Delivery is applicable only to UK Mainland orders placed and with cleared payments before midday. We deliver Monday to Friday, so orders placed with cleared payments before midday on Friday will be delivered the following Monday (excluding Bank Holidays).
Our preferred couriers for the UK and Ireland are DPD Local and UK Mail who provide a one-hour time slot on the morning of delivery.
For the UK, Ireland and European Zones listed below, the shipping price will be calculated depending on the items in your basket and the delivery address.
Please remember the Golden Rule when ordering online – someone must be available to take delivery. For security reasons, most orders require a signature upon delivery. However if you instruct the courier to leave your order at an agreed safe place or with a neighbour, ownership passes to you once the order is delivered accordingly. We cannot be held responsible for any loss incurred as a result of the courier following your specified delivery instructions. Our delivey service is to the front door of the delivery address only. Under no circumstances is the courier obliged to transport a consignment into the premises at the delivery address.
We do our utmost to ensure orders are delivered on time and in the majority of cases provide a one-hour time slot. However, please note that we cannot guarantee the time slots provided by couriers as:
- Consignments of more than one parcel can occasionally be split and so may be delivered separately and;
- Parts of your order may come from different warehouses and so be delivered at different times.

All shipping costs are based on the rates that our couriers charge us. We are able to ship most products to most locations worldwide; if you would like to make an enquiry, please contact us.
Please note that quoted delivery timescales apply to UK mainland Standard Delivery orders only; orders shipped to other locations will take longer. Whilst we make every effort to provide a next day delivery service for UK mainland, we cannot guarantee this service as it may from time to time be affected by adverse weather conditions or other circumstances beyond our control. We make every effort to meet delivery timescales and will update you accordingly should any delays arise. We cannot be held responsible for any losses related to courier delays. Orders placed on or the day before a Bank Holiday will not be processed for dispatch until the next working day.
Although we and our couriers make every effort to get the items to you within the timescales given this is not a 100% guaranteed service. This is because from time to time things can go wrong such as mechanical failure and even human error. We cannot be held responsible for any delays that are out of our control.
Orders containing more than one product or products that are comprised of more than one parcel can sometimes be split in transit. As a result, your order may be delivered in separate deliveries.

FREE No-Rush Delivery
FREE No-Rush Delivery is available on orders over £50 and delivered to UK Mainland addresses only. When selecting FREE No-Rush Delivery at checkout, please note that the delivery timescale shown on the product page is not applicable. The delivery timescale for FREE No-Rush Delivery may be up to double that of the standard delivery method.
If no one is available to take delivery when the courier arrives, they will attempt to deliver your order to a neighbour. If you do not want your parcel left with a neighbour, please note that at the time of ordering. Alternatively, you can rearrange your delivery with the courier by tracking your order. If the courier is unable to deliver to the shipping address provided, they will leave a calling card with details of either where the consignment has been delivered or when redelivery will be attempted. Redelivery is usually attempted the following working day. If the courier makes 2 unsuccessful delivery attempts, you will be required to collect your order from your local depot. Should you fail to collect your order, it will be returned to our warehouse. If you refuse delivery of your order or fail to respond to the calling card left by the courier, it will be returned to our warehouse. When an order is returned to our warehouse due to any of the abovementioned reasons, a return shipping cost is payable (as charged by the courier). We will wait for you (the customer) to contact us and confirm how you wish to proceed before processing any refund.
Incorrect Delivery Address Provided
If you provide an incorrect delivery address, please contact us ASAP so that it can be amended. We cannot be held responsible for any loss incurred as a result of the provision of an incorrect delivery address.
You may of course return any order within 14 days provided that all products are new, unused and in their original packaging. To return your order, please contact us for further returns information. Orders returned without a request for returns information cannot be refunded.
The cost of any change-of-mind return is at your own expense. We can arrange for a third-party collection of your order, typically at a cost of £20 per parcel (all-day service, Mon-Fri only). This charge is subject to change as certain products incur higher shipping charges due to the size and weight of their packaging e.g. nursery furniture. Alternatively, we can assist you in the return of your order through the use of courier comparison website Parcel Monkey. The order/item to be returned must be in it’s original, unused condition. Please contact us to enquire regarding the cost of returning a particular order/item. Please note that we cannot be held responsible for customers having to take time off work to return an order.
If you are returning an order/item because you have changed your mind, there may be a deduction from your refund if the item has been damaged, opened more than necessary as it would be if you were assessing them in a shop or used more than reasonably expected.
Items that are found to be faulty can be returned within 30 days. If your order/item is faulty please contact us for returns information. We recommend that customers check their orders/items as soon as they are received as even if unopened faulty items can only be returned up to 30 days from receipt.
We strongly recommend that original packaging is kept, as any collections for warranty/maintenance work will require that the item be packaged.
If there is any damage to the packaging when your order arrives, please note this when signing for the goods and contact us within 24 hours of receipt for guidance on resolving any issues.
If there is any damage to the item(s) when your order arrives, please inform us within 24 hours of receipt. As per your statutory rights, any items(s) that when delivered are not in the condition described on our website are eligible to be repaired, replaced or returned. However, if you have indicated or there is evidence that the item(s) were damaged deliberately by you or anyone on your behalf, then we reserve the right to refuse acceptance of any return or claim.
Please note that orders containing furniture should be checked on receipt. You must notify us of any courier damage within 48 hours of receipt. Unfortunately we are unable to accept any furniture courier damage claims outside the 48 hour period after delivery.
