Alpacawol heeft een vergelijkbare structuur als schapenwol maar de zachtheid is beter, dit komt onder andere door het gladdere oppervlak, hierdoor voelt de vezel soepel en zacht aan. Door het ontbreken van uitsteeksels ( weerhaakjes) aan de vezels voelt alpacawol comfortabel.
De alpaca vezel/wol is meerdere malen warmer door zijn structuur.
Alpaca wol is water en vuil afstotend.
Alpacawol is een zeer luxe wolsoort, te vergelijken met cashmere en mohair.
Het is niet te vergelijken met schapenwol omdat het geen lanoline bevat.
Alpacawol is hypoallergeen waardoor zeer geschikt voor mensen die allergisch zijn voor huisstofmijt.
De Alpaca wol in de kussens is in bolletjes gemaakt zodat je meer veerkracht krijgt en het minder snel zal pletten.
