De cacao van deze reep wordt door de Awajun indianen verbouwd. De Awajun zijn traditionele jagers en verzamelaars en leven in de jungle van het Amazone regenwoud in het noord-oosten van Peru. Cacao komt van oorsprong uit de regenwouden van de Amazone. Deze Criollo cacao komt dus rechtstreeks van de geboortegrond van de cacao. De Awajun 30% met koffie is met handgeplukte Arabica koffiebonen uit Colombia. Met de inkomsten van deze biologische cacao kunnen de Awajun indianen in hun levensonderhoud voorzien en zijn zij niet genoodzaakt geld te verdienen door hout te verkopen of te kappen voor landbouw en veeteelt.
