In de weideperiode, als de koeien vers gras eten, maken de boeren van Weerribben Zuivel van de room van de melk heerlijke grasboter. Gras zorgt voor een andere samenstelling van de melk, waardoor de boter goed smeerbaar, romiger en smeuïger is. Door het hogere natuurlijke caroteengehalte in het gras, is deze boter geler van kleur. Deze grasboter voldoet aan de boerenlandvogel-criteria van Vogelbescherming Nederland.
