Redi katoen is een rode katoenplant. Deze sierlijke plant, Gossypium barbadense kent een rijke geschiedenis. Zo werd het 8000 jaar v.c. al verbouwd in Peru. Redi katun gaat ontstekingen tegen, zoals in de blaas, urinewegen en in het bloed. Het is een traditioneel natuurmedicijn bij baarmoederontsteking.
De bladeren van deze plant worden gebruikt om mee te stomen of thee van te maken.
