Description
Deze schelp is familie van de tapijtschelp, maar komt uit Italiaanse wateren. Dit ovale en afgeplatte schelpdier is ongeveer vijf centimeter groot. De kleur van de schelp varieert van wit tot zwart en van grijs naar geel. Vaak iets witter van schelp dan de tapijtschelp. Het product is zilt en zoet met een sappige bite.
