Buxus is one of the strongest type of bonsai. They can survive both indoor and outdoor, and adept to multiple kinds of environments.

Beautifully shaped tree trunk make these bonsai trees wonderful additions to your room or office. Strong and relatively easy to care for. 

Height: approximately 50 - 60 cm.  

Care: 

Sunlight: Strong Indirect sunlight, and preferably more than 6 hours of sunlight. Avoid sunlight that is too bright (tips: if you have a window facing the south with bright & direct sunlight, place the plant a little away from the window, or use a transparent curtain to partially block the light).

Water: although buxus can tolerate some short dry periods, they like to be watered frequently (especially in the summer) and the soil should not be dried out. (Water your buxus around 2 times a week, but can be more or less frequent depending on humidity levels and the season). Watering the plant less frequently in the winter and more in the summer months.

The best practice is to use your finger to feel the soil, it should not be overly soggy or overly dry. It should be slightly moist with the top layer of soil only a bit dry.

How to water: immerse the entire bonsai plant in a bucket or basin of water for about 10 minutes. Once the air bubbles have risen to the top, the bonsai has absorbed enough water. Alternatively, you can use a watering can and observe the water sinking into the soil and dripping down from the bottom of the pot.

 Temperature: in the winter months, if you choose to keep your buxus indoor, it will be healthy for the plant if you place it in a colder spot in your room (far away from the heating), and give it plenty of sunlight. Optional: If you have an outdoor space like a balcony, your buxus will enjoy the outdoor environment in the summer.

Fertilizer: add a bit of bonsai plant food during growing seasons every few weeks will be appreciated by your bonsai. No plant food is necessary in the winter.
