Wol is ademend, temperatuurregulerend en antibacterieel. Daardoor houden wollen pantoffels je voeten warm, maar zorgen ze er ook voor dat je voeten niet té warm worden en ontstaan er geen onaangename luchtjes. Voor haar pantoffels gebruikt Baabuk NieuwZeelandse wol, omdat daar het reinigingsproces milieuvriendelijker is. Voor het wassen van de wol wordt alleen water en zeep gebruikt, waarna het water gerecycled wordt om vervuiling van de rivieren te voorkomen. De gebruikte wol is mulesing vrij. De zool is van 100% natural crepe rubber. De pantoffels hebben een vervangbare wollen inlegzool.
Baabuk is een Zwitsers familibedrijf. De slippers worden op traditionele wijze gemaakt in Nepal.
