Suggesties: Vooral tuinbonen smaken met bonenkruid extra goed. Ook andere peulvruchten, zoals erwten, krijgen een pittigere smaak door het gebruik van dit kruid. Het smaakt ook goed bij allerlei soorten vis. U hoeft naast bonenkruid niet veel andere kruiden toe te voegen. Het bonenkruid kan zelfs peper en zout vervangen. U kookt het kruid gewoon mee. Bonenkruid haalt de sterke geur van spruitjes weg indien er wat van wordt meegekookt. U kunt bonenkruid ook gebruiken in gerechten met varkensvlees of in groentesalades. Gebruikt u dan een kleine hoeveelheid om het bonenkruid niet te laten overheersen.
