Deze meloen wordt vaak honingmeloen genoemd, maar de oorspronkelijke naam is Amarilo liso. Het is een ovale vrucht, geel van kleur en met in de lengterichting diepe groeven in de schil. Het vruchtvlees is lichtgroen tot geel van kleur. Lekker sappig en goed van smaak. De belangrijkste leverancier van dit ras is Spanje; de vruchten komen vooral tussen september en januari op de markt en behoort daarom tot de groep wintermeloenen.
