In de eerste 7 hoofdstukken komt de basis van af- en tegenspelen aan bod. Elk hoofdstuk wordt afgesloten met een aantal oefeningen die de lezer snel inzicht verschaffen in het (tegen)spelen.
De laatste 5 hoofdstukken komen de basisprincipes van het bieden aan bod, U wilt zo onderhand immers ook wel eens echt gaan bridgen. Ook hier eindigt elk hoofdstuk met een aantal opgaven.
