Deze Domaine rouge van Domaine de Poulvarel heeft een donkere paarse kleur en aroma’s van blauwe bessen en aardbeien. De wijn heeft smaken die doen denken aan donker rood fruit, vleugje pepermunt en is vol en rond in de mond. Goed te combineren met rood vlees, harde kazen en chocolade desserts.
Sernhac is een eeuwenoud dorp in het noorden van de Costières de Nîmes. In dit dorp, nabij de Pont du Gard, besloten Elisabeth en Pascal Glas in 2004 om hun eigen wijnbedrijf te starten. Inmiddels behoren hun wijnen tot de top van de appellatie en worden ze geroemd door de pers. De syrah en grenache druiven voor deze Domaine Rouge zijn afkomstig van 20-jaar oude druivenstokken. Na de oogst worden de druiven gekneusd en vindt de alcoholische fermentatie plaats in roestvrijstalen tanks. Daarna rijpt de wijn nog 3 weken op eikenhouten vaten.
