In De dissidente leeslijst werpt de redactie van De Groene Amsterdammer nieuw licht op romans die in onderdrukking zijn geschreven en die hun lezers toch een glimp van vrijheid gaven, al had hun publicatie vaak grote consequenties voor de auteurs.Hoofdredacteur Xandra Schutte stelde met haar collega’s een leeslijst samen met drieëntwintig essentiële dissidente romans – zoals Svetlana Alexijevitsj’ De oorlog heeft geen vrouwengezicht, Orhan Pamuks Sneeuw, Shahrnush Parsipurs Women Without Men en Ai Weiweis 1000 jaar vreugde en verdriet.
De dissidente leeslijst biedt een hernieuwde kennismaking met subversieve meesterwerken, van midden vorige eeuw tot nu.
Met bijdragen van onder anderen Marja Pruis, Rasit Elibol, Joost de Vries, Lotfi El Hamidi, Munganyende Hélène Christelle, Charlotte Remarque, Sana Valiulina en Alfred Schaffer.
Xandra Schutte (1963) is sinds 2008 hoofdredacteur van De Groene Amsterdammer.
