Benzoë komt je misschien niet direct heel bekend voor maar het is een heel fijn, warm product. De botanische naam van Benzoë is Styrax benzoin. Het wordt gewonnen uit de hars van de Benzoëboom, die van nature voorkomt in Azië in landen zoals Indonesië, Thailand en Laos. De hars wordt afgetapt van de bomen en te drogen gelegd zodat het kan uitharden. Hierna wordt de ‘olie’ eruit geëxtraheerd. We noemen het hier voor het gemak ‘olie’, maar eigenlijk is het een resinoïde, omdat het extract van de hars wordt opgelost in alcohol.
Benzoë heeft een zoete, vanille achtige geur maar iets kruidiger dan wat je normaal bij vanille gewend bent. Het werkt kalmerend, opbeurend en aardend.

Waarschuwing: voor extern gebruik. Gebruik niet onverdund op de huid. Lees de bijsluiter voor gebruik. Vermjd contact met de ogen. Hou weg van open vuur. Bij kamertemperatuur, uit direct zonlicht en buiten bereik van kinderen bewaren.
