Pompoen ‘Solor’ is een oranje pompoen met een vruchtgewicht van circa 1,1 kg. Het ras is vroegbloeiend, gemiddeld zeven tot tien dagen vroeger dan het standaardras ‘Uchiki Kuri’. Solor is een zeer flexibele groeier, d.w.z. bij meer standruimte per plant resulteert dat onmiddellijk in meer vruchten per plant. De kans op te grove vruchten (zwaarder dan 1,5 kg) is praktisch nihil.
Onder normale omstandigheden zal bij deze zaaidichtheid een opbrengst van 16 á 17 duizend vruchten (18 á 19 ton) per ha gerealiseerd kunnen worden. Het grootste pluspunt van Solor is de uitstekende bewaarbaarheid van de vruchten.Teelt in vollegrond:
