Jip en Janneke zijn twee kleuters (buurkinderen) die heel gewone, dagelijkse dingen meemaken. Elk verhaaltje in deze verzamelbundel is een afgerond geheel en speelt zich af in de kleuterwereld; alles is heel herkenbaar. Een geweldig voorleesboek voor peuters en kleuters vanaf ca. 3 jaar, mede door de vele leuke zwart-witte en enkele paginagrote tekeningen in pastelkleuren.
Kloeke, gebonden uitgave in tweekolommendruk. In deze druk zijn ca. tien verhalen niet opgenomen wegens veroudering, bovendien zijn enkele verouderde begrippen als de bleek, het borstelmannetje, de kolenkelder e.a. vervangen door modernere woorden of weggelaten. De opmaak is zodanig veranderd dat tekst en bijbehorende tekeningen bij elkaar staan; er zijn enkele kleurenillustraties verwijderd en andere toegevoegd.
