Rucola ‘Esmée’ is een eigen gekweekt ras van De Bolster. Esmee heeft mooi fijn en ingesneden blad. De smaak is pittig nootachtig, maar niet bitter.
De jonge bladen vlak boven de grond afsnijden of met wortel en al optrekken. Bij een late uitzaai onder glas (oktober) kan men gedurende een heel lange periode in de winter van dit gewas genieten. Het risico op vorstschade is klein.
Eenmaal per 3 tot 4 weken in kleine porties uitzaaien geeft een goede oogstopbrengst.
