De Langhe Nebbiolo van Gianfranco Alessandria heeft een heldere rode kleur en subtiele aroma's van rood fruit en wilde rozen. Een elegante wijn met ronde tannines. De wijn is heerlijk bij risotto en gerechten met truffel en paddenstoelen.
Gianfranco kocht na de dood van zijn vader in 1986 4 hectare wijngaard. Het wijnhuis is gevestigd in Monforte d’Alba, een klein dorpje in de Barolo streek. Vandaag de dag runt Gianfranco het wijnhuis samen met zijn dochter Vittoria en beslaat het inmiddels 6,5 hectare beplant met nebbiolo, barbera en dolcetto. De nebbiolo druiven zijn afkomstig van wijngaarden rondom Monforte d'Alba. De druiven ondergaan een schilinweking en alcoholische fermentatie in verticale tanks. Daarna rijpt de wijn 12 maanden in Franse eikenhouten vaten waarvan 20% nieuw is.
Perswijn nr.6 september 2018 (15,5): "Geur: puur, kersen, lekker pittig en getypeerd. Smaak: fruitig, dan droog, flinke tannine, heeft tijd nodig."
