Samenvatting
Een nieuw deel in de thrillerserie rond het fascinerende duo Evie en Cyrus.
Twintig jaar geleden werd de familie van Cyrus Haven vermoord. Alleen hij en zijn broer Elias overleefden. Cyrus omdat hij zich verstopte, Elias omdat hij, zoals later bleek, de moordenaar was. Nu komt Elias vrij uit de gesloten psychiatrische inrichting waar hij was opgenomen, en forensisch psycholoog Cyrus moet besluiten of hij de man die hem zijn jeugd ontnam kan vergeven.
Ondertussen wordt Cyrus opgeroepen bij een zaak in Nottingham. Een man is vermoord en diens dochter Maya is ontvoerd. Even later wordt een tweede vrouw ontvoerd. De enige getuige is Evie Cormac, de getroebleerde tiener met een gave en een oude bekende van Cyrus. Om de twee vrouwen te vinden, zullen ze samen op zoek moeten naar antwoorden uit het verleden, en ze weten beiden dat dat nooit zonder gevaar is.
