De ontwerpster Hella Jongerius heeft haar faam te danken aan de manier waarop ze industrieel en ambachtelijk, hightech en lowtech, traditioneel en eigentijds design samenbrengt. In 1993 richtte ze de designstudio Jongeriuslab op, waar ze haar eigen projecten uitvoert en ook producten creëert voor gerenommeerde klanten zoals Maharam, Danskina, IKEA en KLM.
Haar oeuvre is tentoongesteld in musea en galeries als het Design Museum (London), de Galerie kreo (Parijs) en de Moss Gallery (New York).
