Organic fine oat flakes are a true pantry staple! They come from a yearly plant and are predominantly important to regions with cool and wet summers, for instance, Northwest Europe. Oat flakes are obtained from the whole grain of oat seeds. The process goes as follows: the raw grain is mechanically removed from straw and any inedible elements. Then it's treated with steam and dry heat. Ultimately, the oat flakes gain their shape when the oat kernels are flattened between two rollers. Now, because of the gentle production process, virtually all nutrients are preserved in the oat flakes. This is why they are a healthy basis for muesli, porridge, and other dishes like overnight oats. Organic fine oat flakes have a mild flavour and make for a smooth porridge. A good alternative to packaged instant oats, oat flakes are also rich in fibre and protein.
