Orzo (of risoni) is een kleine, gedroogde pastasoort in de vorm van rijst, die volgens de Italianen op gerstekorrels lijken. Vandaar de naam orzo: Italiaans voor gerst. Je ziet deze pastavorm in meer landen rondom de Middellandse Zee Op Sicilië, waar de La BIO IDEA Orzo op traditionele wijze wordt gemaakt, eet men het van oudsher in soepen. Maar Orzo is ook lekker als pasta met een goede tomatensaus of pesto en als pilav gemend met gebakken groenten.
