Richard Woods, schilder, ontwerper en beeldhouwer, is afgestudeerd aan The Slade School of Fine Art. Zijn goed gedocumenteerde werk overschrijdt de grenzen tussen kunst, architectuur en design en bestaat meestal uit overdreven, opzichtige voorstellingen van traditionele Britse architecturale en interieur motieven, zoals houten vloeren, chintz-behang, gekke bestrating of rode bakstenen.
