Na een duikvakantie in Curaçao besloot oprichter, Alex van Eck, dat er iets moest veranderen. Beelden in de media kon hij niet aanzien en besloot dat het verhaal op een andere manier verteld moest worden.
Om die reden heeft hij zijn hond “Joy” getraind om te zoeken naar plastic flesjes. Dit ging zo goed dat ze dat hebben uitgebreid met blikjes en pakjes drinken. Tijdens het uitlaten zijn ze samen geobsedeerd door zwerfafval en nemen ze alles mee wat ze vinden. 'In de rugtas van de hond bewaren we alles wat we tegenkomen en lopen we van prullenbak naar prullenbak.'
Enjoy Cleaning Up organiseert opruimacties en voorlichtingen op basisscholen Universiteiten en bedrijven.
Ondanks dat het onderwerp negatief is, met nog negatievere gevolgen voor onze prachtige natuur, proberen we het op een positieve (aaibare) manier onder de aandacht te brengen en dit slaat aan!
