Description
Pisco Waqar wordt gemaakt door Pisquera Tulahuén, dat al voor meer dan 170 jaar pisco produceert in de gelijknamige plaats aan de voet van het Andesgebergte, in Chili.
Deze Chileense sterkedrank wordt volledig gemaakt van Muscatdruiven, die worden verbouwd in Chili en met de hand worden geplukt. In dit gebied schijnt de zon bijna altijd en hierdoor worden de druiven lekker zoet van smaak.
Pisco Waqar wordt gedistilleerd in traditionele, op hout gestookte koperen alambiek ketels, die op 1100 meter boven zeeniveau staan. De pisco wordt niet gerijpt en is daardoor helder van kleur. Tevens worden er tijdens het proces geen suikers toegevoegd.
De geur is licht en delicaat zacht, met frisse aroma's van wit fruit, citrus en oranjebloesem. Bij het drinken onthult er zich een heerlijke, ronde en droge smaak. De afdronk is fruitig en ook een beetje kruidig.
Deze Pisco scoort maar liefst 95 punten op de rating website WineEnthusiast en won al 3 gouden medailles: in 2012 en 2014 op de San Francisco World Spirits competition en in 2013 op de International Spirits Challenge.
Pisco Waqar past perfect in de klassieke Pisco Sour en is ook ideaal om te combineren met Fentimans Ginger Beer & Muddled Lime.
