Description
De Glenfiddich 12Y is een single malt whisky, afkomstig uit Schotland. Deze single malt wordt gedistilleerd in Speyside en wordt na het distilleren 12 jaar gerijpt in bourbon en ex-sherry vaten.
De Glenfiddich 12Y bevat invloeden van vers fruit en frisse tonen in de aroma. In de smaak komen voornamelijk toetsen van turfrook en butterscotch naar voren met ondertonen van hout en verschillende mout afgerond met een lange en zachte afdronk.
William Grant bouwde samen met zijn zeven zonen en dochters zijn distilleerderij Glenfiddich op in 1887 in de Schotse plaats Dufftown, in de Speyside regio. De eerste distilleerderij die single malt whisky produceert en exporteert over de hele wereld.
Glenfiddich is vernoemd naar de vallei (‘Glen’) van het hert (‘fiddich’). Op elke fles staat daarom het iconische hert van Glenfiddich afgebeeld.
