De wijngaarden van El Portillo beslaan 68 hectare, en liggen in een rotsachtige omgeving, aan de voet van het Andesgebergte, Argentinië, op ± 1200 meter hoogte. De bodem bestaat uit grof gesteente, wat een perfecte waterdrainering geeft. De gemiddelde leeftijd van de wijnstokken is 30 jaar.

Omschrijving en details
Intens diep-rode kleur. De geur is zoet en verfijnd. Zeer soepele, volle en makkelijk drinkbare wijn. De zachte tannines geven de wijn de ‘velours-achtige’ structuur in de mond. Aroma’s van rijpe frambozen, laurier, leer en tabak. De druiven worden met de hand geplukt. Een combinatie van moderne en traditionele technieken. De rijping geschiedt deels op roestvrij stalen tanks en deels een korte periode op nieuwe eiken vaten, bij een constante temperatuur van 12?C. Perfect bij belegen kazen, pittige gerechten en rood gegrild vlees. Serveren tussen 16 en 18?C.
