Deze Gutsriesling van Weingut Mathern is een zuivere riesling met een alcoholpercentage van 11%. De uitgesproken aroma’s doen denken aan peer, rijpe nectarine en witte perzik. De wijn is elegant en levendig fris. Heerlijk als aperitief en goed te combineren met garnalen, coquilles, gedroogde ham en quiches.
Het wijnhuis werd in 1907 opgericht door de familie Mathern in Niederhausen. Helmut Mathern leidde jarenlang het wijndomein en was een getalenteerde wijnmaker. Tot ieders schrik stierf hij plotseling in 2002. Vanaf dat moment hebben zijn vrouw Gloria en zijn 2 kinderen Henning en Louisa het overgenomen. De wijngaarden zijn aangeplant op de steile hellingen van het kleine dorpje Niederhausen. De druiven voor de Gutsriesling Trocken worden handmatig geoogst wanneer ze voldoende rijp zijn. Het sap vergist na een zachte persing in roestvrijstalen tanks. Na afloop wordt de wijn op natuurlijke wijze gefilterd en jong gebotteld.
