Description
De Pusser’s British Navy Gunpowder Proof Rum is een Britse Rum volgens de traditionele Royal Navy stijl uit 1970.
De rum wordt op de originele alcoholsterkte van 54,5% gebotteld. Het is een erg volle rum met behoorlijk wat warmere kruiden zoals kaneel, nootmuskaat en gember, maar ook honing en vanille. De afdronk is erg lang en verrassend soepel, gezien het hoge alcoholpercentage.
Pusser's Rum is een bedrijf op de Britse Maagdeneilanden dat de originele Royal Navy-rum bottelt, mengt en distribueert.
Vroeger kregen de matrozen van de Engelse marine elke dag een goede dosis rum van de “Purser,” een woord dat door de matrozen werd omgevormd tot “Pusser”. Dit gebruik werd op 31 juli 1970 afgeschaft door de Admiraliteit. Een dag die nu bekend staat als black tot day. In 1979 wilde Charles Tobias deze traditie in stand houden en met toestemming van de Admiraliteit kreeg hij het originele recept. Hierdoor is Pusser’s Rum één van de meest historische en traditionele rums die vandaag de dag nog steeds verkrijgbaar is. De rijke smaak van Pusser's Rum is helemaal natuurlijk, er worden geen kunstmatige smaak- of kleurstoffen toegevoegd.
