De wijnen van Dönnhoff komen van de (meestal) stijle wijngaarden direct gelegen aan het kronkelende riviertje de Nahe, de bodem bestaat vooral uit vulkanisch gesteente 'Schiefer' genoemd, dit geeft de wijnen een enorme minerale toets. Bleekgeel van kleur, uitbundige neus met tonen van exotische en citrusfruit. Droge en tintelend frisse aanzet, alle mondhoeken worden geprikkeld met frisse tonen zoals limoen, grapefruit en ananas, heel mooi mineraal en dat geeft een heel schoon mondgevoel, en zo puur.
