De familie Girardin heeft meerdere premier cru wijngaarden. Allen wijnen, die volledig Bourgogne waardig zijn, maar La Maladiere beviel mij het best. Een mooie verhouding tussen zuur en fruit en een lange soepele afdronk. De 2016 is door de Britse wijngoeroe Jancis Robinson beoordeelt met de mooie score van 16,5+ en de toevoeging GV (Good Value), waarbij de + aangeeft dat ze verwacht dat de wijn nog zal verbeteren in de tijd.
Deze wijn is gemaakt van de Pinot Noir druif.
