De Tequila Fortaleza Añejo is gemaakt van 100% blauwe weber agave en elke fles wordt nog steeds met de hand gebotteld.
Het merk Tequila Fortaleza is opgericht in 2005, maar de groot-grootvader Don Cenobio richtte in 1873 zijn eerste distilleerderij op – La Perseverancia in Jalisco. Don Cenobio was niet alleen de eerste Mexicaan die “mezcal de tequila” exporteerde naar de Verenigde Staten, maar de eerst in het bereiden van agave op deze manier. Don Cenobio gebruikte cabines met stoom in plaats van koken in de grond en het te bedekken met aarde.
